Justin SchoonenemanWhat a fantastic experience. Normally rainy days keep me at home, but the skills clinic had me clearing obstacles and railing berms with a new found confidence in the rain and mud. A great way to learn new skills and get off the couch! A must do for any riderRead more...

Learnt heaps, generally speaking the course improved my confidence but specific learnings included learning how to turn tight corners whilst travelling up hill, log roll overs and smoother riding on tight single track.

Clare PearceThe camp met all of my expectations - I received fantastic coaching (Adam is a legend - he is so encouraging and patient with the beginners), i met great girls to ride and enter races with, had fabulous food and challenged myself to get better and more confident at riding. It is fantastic to be surrounded by a group of people (all the MTB Skills crew) who are so passionate about riding, and also encourage women to participate in a largely male dominated and challenging sport.Read more...

Holly LusherNo I think you and Norm do a great job and the others said they have never known anyone to do one on one training like you two doRead more...

Michael Stephenslooking up more - keep reminding myself of this, keeping my elbows tucked in on climbs - still practicing getting used to this one and the pushing squat to lauch off dropsRead more...

Andrew Fergusonlots. Its easier to do this stuff with a bit of speed, well at least more than I was doing them at. Hairpins and releasing the front brake, pushing the bike forward over obstacles. Maintaining speed over obstacles/drops by launchingRead more...

Josh MilesImproving these clinics would be hard, this one was very well run and thoroughly enjoyable and as I told Norm at the end of the day, I could not turn the pedals any more if I tried but I had learned a lot - this was perfect.Read more...

Laura BrownWas one of the best courses i have done. Went well above expectations. Run with passion and dedication and tailored brilliantly to peoples skill (or lack of) level. Would recommend it to anyone. Me and the girls i went with have swapped email addresses and have started mountain biking on a Saturday. We were never made to feel stupid, although we knew we were hopeless. Thank-you so much.Read more...

Alistair EarlesI am struggling to think of a better way that the course could have been run. Well done! I know that there was only one day, and I was exhausted at the end of it anyway, but in an ideal world (where I was 15kg lighter with had heaps of energy) I would have liked to have more flowing repetition. This is dictated a lot by the terrain, but if there was a really short looped trail with a drop off, a jump, a log and a steep section that we could repeat ten times in an hour, I think…Read more...

Stella LaceySafety first - basic checks, navigating slight downhill in attack position, a switchback, drop, built up log, roots/drop combo, single log, up hill/rocks combo and "THE DOWNHILL"!!!! Oh yeah and that Norm has had heaps of practice catching riders mid fall - sorry Norm you had some more practice at the 02 Aug clinic!!!!Read more...

Stacey LawrenceI learnt basic techniques and body awareness (where my body is and where it should be). I also learnt that I am not that crap. This may sound like a weird thing to learn but I have been reluctant to join a riding group in Vic. with people that I don?t know because of the potential embarrassment factor. Up until now, I have been meeting with friends from Canberra to ride, which doesn?t happen often enough to build fitness and skills. But now I am keen to get stuck into MTB riding and join a group and maybe even build…Read more...

Andrew MItchellI had log jumps all wrong. Have to keep off the brakes, get up out of the saddle when cornering and keep the pedals horizontal through the corners. I loved Norms honest and clear approach to instructing. The kinetic thing works really well for most people and gets the message through. Really very well done.Read more...

Emma GilmourThe clininc was everything I was hoping it would be and more. I don't have anything to suggest to make it better. The group sizes were perfect, the instructors lovely, the atmosphere was relaxed and fun and most of all it increased my enjoyment of mountain biking. i can't wait to get back out there.Read more...

Got exactly what I was looking for out of the course and can now execute with confidence the jumps I'd been eyeing off for some time. Norm also helped to identify a number of bad habits in my technique which I wasn't even aware of that were without doubt the reason for some previous nasty falls. I also now know how to pull off a move I've seen on MTB videos but which had confounded me in the past. Thanks a heap!
Q. I'm very new to mountain biking, I'm worried I will be the only beginner at the course. Will I be made to feel stupid?
A. You are the reason we exist! Everyone had to start somewhere, and we can show you the techniques you will need to become more confident on a mountain bike, in a fun and reassuring manner.
Q. My fitness is very low, do I need to get in shape first?
A. When you register for one of our clinics, you will fill in a form asking about your current riding ability. You will then be put into a group of people similar to your own level. On average most groups cover less than 10km over a 4 hour clinic.
Q. I'm not as young as I used to be, can I still join in?
A. To date our oldest participant has been more than 65 years old. So long as you and your doctor think you are ok to attend, then we will welcome you.
Q. My child wants to improve their mountain bike skills, is your course right for them?
A. Our minimum age is 13 years old, and so long as you think your child is mature enough to be in with a group of adults for a minimum of 4 hours, then they are welcome.
Q. I don't know how to ride a bike yet, will you teach me how to ride a bike from scratch?
A. No. Our clinics are designed to cater for Cycling enthusiasts, who already know how to ride a bike.
Q. Do you cater to groups of school children.
A. Currently No.
Q. I'm a keen downhill mountain biker, and want to learn how to boost mega gaps on my 8 inch travel bike, are your clinics for me?
A. No. Our clinics have a definate XC (cross country) flavour to them. Whilst we won't descriminate we do ride UP hills as well as down.
Q. My bike is very old without any suspension, can I use it?
A. So long as your bike is checked by a bicycle mechanic and is in good condition. However as a beginner you will find it much better with a modern mountain bike that has some suspension, we can help with hire from one of our partners.
Q. My bike is a HYBRID with 700c skinny wheels, is it suitable.
A. The only requirement for our clinics is a good condition Mountain bike. This means a 26 or 29 inch Mountain Bike, that can accept at least 1.9inch knobby tyres
Q. What if it rains on the day, what happens?
A. You get wet! Our clinics will only ever be cancelled or postponed due to dangerous conditions. Rain is quite common in the areas we conduct clinics, and in fact the trails are often nicer with some rain. As always our cancellation policy applies.
Q. Can I book for a private or small group clinic
A. Yes, however due to our busy schedule we are normally only available for private lessons mid week. Contact us for more details.
Q. My stock portfolio went down 5 points last month, should I sell?
A. Yes, and buy more bikes, so you can ride more oftern.
Got more questions...? Just ask.
